The Church reads the Sunday Gospels on a three-year cycle. Year A is Matthew’s year, and it runs from the First Sunday of Advent 2025 through Christ the King on November 22, 2026. After that the lectionary turns to Year B and Mark, and these readings do not come back around until Advent 2028.

That is the reason this index exists. A guide written for the Twentieth Sunday of Year A is just as useful in 2029 as it was the week it was published, so the archive below is built to be read by liturgical day rather than by publication date. It fills in as each Sunday is written.

Each guide prints the four readings in full, works through them with the Church Fathers, Aquinas, the Catechism, and current Catholic commentary in Chicago-style footnotes, and closes with developed homily themes. The readings and the opening of the analysis are free to read. The rest is for members.
